I will fight to keep water and sewer rates low!
Dear Neighbor,
Affordable, clean, and reliable water is essential to our community’s success. I am seeking the opportunity to serve you on the water board to promote clean water resources, ensure thoughtful planning to keep rates low, and guide us through the next stage of growth so that our community continues to thrive.
Born and raised in San Marcos, I am proud to call our town my lifelong home. As a businessman, a proud father, and an Adventure Guides leader, I understand the importance of investing in our future while protecting our current resources.
I would be honored to advocate on your behalf, and I humbly ask for your vote for Vallecitos Water District 5.
Sincerely,
Henry “Wally” Simpson
About Wally
Born and raised in San Marcos, I’m proud to be a lifelong resident of this incredible town. While San Marcos has grown into a dynamic and thriving city, in my heart it will always feel like a small town.
This community has shaped me into a confident businessman, a proud father, and a leader within the YMCA’s Adventure Guides program. I’m running for the Vallecitos Water District board to give back to the city that has given me so much.
From Woodland Elementary to San Marcos Middle, then as a proud SMHS Knight and Palomar College Comet, I’ve been educated and inspired by San Marcos every step of the way. Earning my degree in Supply Chain Management from the University of Phoenix built upon that foundation, and now, with over a decade of experience in the field, I’m ready to apply those skills to managing our water resources efficiently.
Water and sewer management are crucial to the health and success of our community. As your representative, I’ll focus on keeping San Marcos thriving for future generations, ensuring our systems are effectively managed without the influence of partisan politics. My goal is simple: safeguard our way of life by ensuring affordable, clean, and reliable water for all.
I’ve always been committed to giving back. From playing sports as a kid to volunteering with the local fire department after graduating from the Palomar Fire Academy, I’ve stayed deeply involved in our community. However, my most rewarding experience has been coaching youth sports. Starting with football at San Marcos High School, I later spent nearly a decade coaching youth soccer.
Being a team player is essential to success, whether on the field or in public service. The patience, dedication, and leadership I’ve developed through coaching are the same qualities I will bring to the Vallecitos Water District board.
Issues
- Affordable Water: My top priority is to keep water rates as low as possible while ensuring all Vallecitos customers have access to affordable, safe, and clean water.
- Clean Water: Securing sustainable and new water sources is essential for guaranteeing a consistent and reliable supply of clean water for our community, now and in the future.
- Reliable Water: Balancing necessary infrastructure improvements with the need to keep rates low will be challenging, but I am committed to maintaining an affordable and stable water supply while investing in the future.

Time for Change
Poor planning has led to major system failures. I will make sure we address these issues immediately. Here are photos of a recent water main break in Discovery Meadows:
My opponent refuses to collaborate with local leaders and this has made her an ineffective board member, unable to address critical water issues in our community.
My opponent would rather focus on national politics instead of the job at hand. This behavior has caused unnecessary delays and wasted valuable time and resources that should be dedicated to solving our community’s water challenges. I will be a board member who prioritizes local water issues.
